INTERVIEW WITH ESPN MAGAZING 12:40pm TOMORROW!

Anyone out there with Sirius Radio, tune in to channel 121 at 12:40pm to hear my interview with Eric who runs the ESPN Magazine show from 12-2pm!

We've been asked to come on and talk about the Curse Breaking Ceremony I'll be conducting (successfully this time) on Thursday night in Times Square outside the ESPN Zone on 42nd and Broadway.

Should be cool. I'm excited. I hear the host is a fellow Jet fan/sufferer. Hopefully if we can continue to help each other out, connecting through this Jets Curse process as a kind of Jets Outreach Program, we can shed our collective blues and radiate some positive vibes into the world and team.

I know Jet nation, myself included, are naturally optimistic. Eternally hopeful. Many are rabid and sure of a Superbowl victory THIS YEAR. (no joke) But we ALL carry that dread inside us. That when things go well - from a 3-0 start with rookie QB/Coach, to any offensive drive with the game on the line - we're EXPECTING the other shoe to drop.

THAT FEELING that we carry deep within, that we smother with excuses, stats, and face-paint, is the negative splinter in our proverbial Jet-paw. (you know what I mean)

I don't know the exact remedy, but collective positivity and feeling more NEUTRAL about such worries when they arise, putting them in check instead of letting them seep from us, may be the key.

From the tens of thousands in the stands to the millions at home across the nation, not letting those feelings permeate the quantum field could do something to help this team while they battle their own uncertainty in the heat of battle.

Crazy you say? Madness? Maybe. But doing something is better than nothing. What's crazy is sitting back year after year and enduring this endless frustration.

TAKE ACTION. Get in the game, Jet Nation. What have we got to lose?

If we try and fail, that's one thing. Know what happens if we don't try? Nuthin'.

Join us Thursday December 3rd in Times Square outside ESPN Zone on 42nd and Broadway. Wear your Jet gear. Get ready to do the J! E! T! S! cheer 3 times in a row. (the full cheer three times, as per curse-breaking instructions), then come have a drink with us and watch the game. (Bar TBD)

GO JET FANS. HELP YOUR TEAM TO VICTORY OVER BUFFALO AND PUNCH THEIR WAY INTO THE 2009 PLAYOFFS.

Mark J. Williamson

DEEP FRIED VICTORY

I love the smell of deep fried Panther in the morning. Smells like...

VICTORY.

Sweet sweet victory after so long. And after an even longer drought at home.

Oh it feels so good. So OVER-DUE.

My dad and I watched the Jets beat the pants off the Carolina Panthers Sunday 17-6 at the stadium. Should have been 27-6 easy, but I won't get into that. A win's a win.

I tip my hat first to Mother Nature, who cooked up a Thanksgiving Day weekend Sunday that hit around 60 degrees, sported warm sunshine and not a cloud in the sky.

Next I send a HUGE thanks to Peter, Moe, Jimmy and the entire crew out at 16 G for allowing us to share their annual Thanksgiving Day celebration, complete with deep-fried 28 pound turkey.

I've never had deep fried turkey. Nor shallow fried. And MAN was it delicious. Moist, juicy, and bursting with turkey flavor. I'm thankful for you men sharing so much of your time and Jet stories with us, as well as your food and drink. Can NOT thank you enough.

We met old Jet friends and many new Jet fan friends as well, all with passionate tales of Jet life, like Declan and his wife in particular. Thanks for your time.

A great day all around, and more to come. With this victory, and our victory this coming Thursday against Buffalo after myself and 100 Jet fans (including YOU if you'll join me) break the apparent JET CURSE 6:16pm in Times Square @ 42nd Street and Broadway outside the ESPN Zone, the Jets will be well on their way to the winning ways of their first 3 games, and give us a playoff run none shall soon forget.

Some say I'm a dreamer.

But I'm not the only one.

I hope one day you will join us. And the Jet-world will cheer as one...

MY TURKEY BOWL 2 VICTORY

I had tons of fun yesterday playing in Turkey Bowl 2, a game I organize with old friends the day after Thanksgiving.

Despite a slight injury to my right heel bone (so if you see me limping tomorrow during tailgating, now you know) my team was victorious. As my team lost the first annual Turkey Bowl, to win this time was sweeter than canned cranberry-sauce.

I attribute my victory not just to my stellar skillz and play-making ability (I closed out the victory with a sack) but to the Jets gear I wore - the Jets baseball hat my dad got me for my birthday, and my #80 Chrebet jersey my dad bought me a million years ago.

And as I see the Jets are favored to win against the Panthers tomorrow, I feel that the victory of one individual on the field of battle in Jets gear will spark other individuals in Jets gear (the actual team), to victory.

And after I break the curse this coming Thursday to solidify victory over the Buffalo Bills, you'll see continued victories the rest of the year, and a triumphant end to this amazing (if not maddening) 2009.

(What Jet season hasn't been maddening in some way shape or form?)

Until next time...

THANX GIVING

HAPPY THANXGIVING TO ALL, AND TO ALL A GOOD NIGHT.

(unless you're a Giants fan. Man do THEY suck!)

So what am I thankful for this Thanksgiving?
  • Being able to witness the deep-frying of a turkey at the Stadium this Sunday...
  • That I'll be breaking the Jets Curse next Thursday at 6:15pm in Times Square...
  • That I don't root for the Detroit Lions.
I had a great time with my family this holiday. Hope you all did too.

Until next time,

In honor of Thanksgiving we give you Moe and his low down on tailgate cooking.

I'm pretty sure I can do half (maybe) of the stuff he describes in a normal kitchen. The fact that he does this in a parking lot is more than amazing. Oh, yeah, and his challah french toast is that damn good.

JET FANS TAKE ACTION - DEC. 3rd

I'm tired of waiting around for the Jets to fix their (endless) problems. I'm excited to be taking the Jet by the horns and hitting Times Square December 3rd to battle this curse. (In case there IS an actual curse. There's certainly SOMETHING negative going on with this team. Debate THAT I challenge you...)

Sunday's 31-14 loss to the Evil Empire in New England proves more than ever that this team needs help.

When I conducted my first curse removal ceremony solo (with Wayne who had the camera) in Brooklyn on the banks of the East River October 4th, we were 3-1. We had suffered our first loss that day, to the New Orleans Saints after our remarkable 3-0 start to the season.

Since that night, when the Jet Curse put the smack-down on the attempt with 20 mile an hour winds that blew my candle out constantly, the Jets have gone 1-5. Lost games they CLEARLY should have won.

Is it MY fault?

Sure they lost to the Saints that day, but the Saints are 10-0 now. One of the best in the league. Loss forgiven. But the others? They should have won. They came CLOSE to winning (some of them).

SO IS IT ME? Did my failure to eradicate the curse then and there and not repeating it on the next full moon lead to the Jet Curse howling back with a vengeance???

Maybe it IS my fault. I'll take the blame, Jet Nation. And I'm sorry.

But I'm determined to do something about it. For all of us to get off our green butts and stop waiting for THEM to do something; to STOP throwing interceptions, throw a 3rd down pass LONGER than the amount you need for a 1st down, stop committing a FALSE START or HOLDING penalty AT THE START OF EVERY DANG DRIVE.

WE'VE got to take action. And we will.

6:15pm December 3rd, outside the ESPN Zone on 42nd and B'way in Times Square.

With our combined might and positive, loyal, tempered Jet love, we'll shock the vortex of negativity and doubt that have plagued this team my entire life - all our lives - into the stratosphere. Bringing balance to the Green Force and lifting the demons of despair from the shoulders of this team as they prep for battle in Toronto against the Buffalo Bills. The start of a proud, victorious drive to season's end.

JOIN ME. JOIN US. TAKE ACTION.

I'll conduct the simple ceremony with you and 100 others, then let's deliver a J! E! T! S! that shakes Manhattan Island. Fills the tourists with awe at our passion, the photos and memories of which they'll take with them to the four corners of the globe.

SEE YOU THERE. BRING FELLOW SUFFERING JET FANS WITH YOU, OR PLEASE FORWARD THIS TO THEM IF YOU CAN'T MAKE IT. (You know who they are...)

GO JETS. BEAT CAROLINA.

JOIN US DECEMBER 3RD, 6:15pm TIMES SQUARE!!!!!

WAKE THE KIDS!

CALL THE NEIGHBORS!

AN EXTRAVAGANZA YOU WON'T WANT TO MISS!

We've been following the Jets 2009 season closely, and it's proving more than ever that the Jets are one "stopped-up" organization. Talented, exciting to watch, always on the brink of something good, but just can't get it done. For FORTY YEARS they've failed to return to the Superbowl, forty years of spectacular pain.

NOW YOU CAN DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!

I'm putting the call out to Jet fans, family of Jet fans, ANYONE interested in helping us LIFT THE CURSE that's been keeping the Jets from becoming a consistently winning team. Please spread the word!

JOIN US:
Thursday
December 3rd, 2009
6:15pm

Times Square in front of the ESPN Zone
(Broadway between 42nd & 43rd street)

I'm going to follow the instructions of curse expert Lexa Rosean who explained a blockage like this needs to be broken at a crossroads, (what better crossroads than Times Square?) and with a gathering of 100 passionate people. THAT'S YOU.

With your help, I'll conduct a brief "ritual of three" to unblock this team, bring them victory against the Buffalo Bills that night, and a Superbowl victory (at some point - hopefully sooner than later).

JOIN US! We need you. I need you. THE JETS NEED YOU. Wear something "Jets", or if you have anything green and white, that'll do. We'll be heading to a local bar afterward to have some beers and watch the game. (starts at 8pm)

CAN'T WAIT TO SEE YOU THERE!

Don't believe in curses you say? Then come for fun. The thrill of the moment. For a story to tell. Not to mention be in the documentary! Do you realize ALL JET FANS will remember THIS MOMENT when they win the Superbowl? They'll look back to DECEMBER 3rd, 2009 AS THE DAY THE JETS CURSE WAS BROKEN.

And you'll carry the pride of that success with you the rest of your days.

SO COME ON DOWN! I'll be in my #80 Chrebet jersey. Keep a lookout and say hi.

Look forward to seeing you!

GO JET FANS. BEAT THE CURSE.

PEEK INSIDE JETS NEW STADIUM

As season ticket holder, my dad got this email from the Jets organization of the NEW STADIUM getting dressed in it's brand spanking new artificial turf.

They say there's "JETS" inserts that will go in the endzone and adorn the center of the field for games, which is cool.

Can't wait to walk into that place next year!

Until then, thought I'd share the view...

ENJOY!

COMFORTABLY NUMB

Talking to my friend Rob out in California today, he's a New York native who pulls for the Jets from the "Left Coast", about how numb he felt after the 24-22 loss to the Jaguars last week. And how numb we feel at present.

Though doing this documentary and meeting so many passionate fans tail-gating before the games - some of whom are still sure we're winning the Superbowl this year - that's right - THIS YEAR (from your mouth to God's ears...) - I feel like I need to be more cheerful, more up-beat, more hopeful! SAY they're going to win the Superbowl and stuff! Get that excited!!!!!!!!!

But I can't.

As Dr. Joe said in our interview, there's Jet fans and then there's Jet "realists". We know they're gonna look good every year, but they're not gonna BE good.

So for now, I have hopes they can pull an upset over New England and actually stay in the playoff race, but what will actually happen, as we now know by now, is any one's guess. And THAT'S what I'm numb to. The unknown.

No amount of cheering/positivity makes that go away. And so Rob and I remain hopeful, but numb...

Comfortably...

JETS PIN-UP GAL

Wanted to share a cool pic my good friend Jeff just sent me today. He's a talented artist who does pin-up portraits of women who want to see themselves as a ravishing pin-up model. This was one of a Jet fan who had Jeff draw her with a #4 Favre jersey on - which he just changed to Sanchez's #6.

Video 12 - Mark and Dr. Joe

Remember a million years ago (okay, a month) where I talked about how to get a Doctor on the phone? Well, we've had this video queued up for a bit - it was bumped for Mr. Foley and then Mark trying to break the curse.

Finally though, it is Dr. Joe. Who shows that Jets fans will talk to us...even when we're not at the stadium.

PATIENCE...

I still feel Rex Ryan and Mark Sanchez, and all the other additions to this team since their arrival are positives for this team. I must also remember that the two of them have only had 9 regular season games to get up to speed. Their opponents have had as many seasons under their belts.

And I know too that it's a team effort. Everything doesn't hinge on those two. And the talent from last years 8-3 team is still there. And the losses this year haven't been blow-outs. While it's more frustrating to lose close ones you could have/should have won, the fact they were close is reason to keep on hoping they'll turn the corner.

Wayne sent me an article that Ryan was moved to tears about their loss to the Jaguars. That it inspired the players to run through a brick wall for him. I think that's great. Emotion is a powerful motivator.

Let's see if those emotions carry through practice to the weekend, and if they can run through the red white and blue wall of the New England Patriots.

Go Jets. Beat New England.

JETS ARE A TALENTED BAD TEAM

Let's face it. The Jets are not, nor have ever been, a good team.

They've ALWAYS been talented. Still are. And that's what makes rooting for this team somewhat bearable as time passes and I grow older. But they've never been good. And they're still not good.

Even the teams that made it to the AFC Championship game (game that if you win, sends you to the Superbowl) in 82' and 98', they shot themselves in the foot. Which good teams don't do. Good teams may get BEATEN by another team. But they don't beat themselves.

The 2009 season has contained every shred of hope, excitement, victory, frustration, struggle, and anguish that every other season has since I started watching this talented bad team as kid. Nothing's changed. Nothing.

Sure I'll always be hopeful. I'm an optimist. A dreamer. And I still think the Jets could win a Superbowl. Someday. But it'll have to be a crazy, dramatic, Cinderella type run. Like the Giants had when they won a couple years a go.

The underdog that goes all the way, beating the elite teams at the last second, in amazing fashion, and in the elite team's stadiums. Upsetting everyone and sealing it with some insane play that will go down in football history.

And then they'll go back to not winning another 40 years. But we'll have had our championship. Our parade. And we can all die happy.

And they'll go back to being the talented bad team we love.

ANOTHER STOOPID DEFEAT

Allow me to express my feelings following this disgusting, repulsive, nonsensical 24-22 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars with actual quotes from fellow Jet fans while exiting the stadium:

"Watching the Jets is like watching a loved one die..."

SPYING ON JACKSONVILLE

Thought I'd spy on the Jacksonville Jaguars on NFL.com, and see what's being written about the upcoming game against us. They sure have some interesting things to say. http://www.jaguars.com/news/article.aspx?id=8415

I didn't know our defense "is number two in the league in overall defense and number two against the pass." That's awesome. The Jaguar offense is ranked 9th of 32 teams in the league, from 20th last year. They're getting good, and it's up to Rex Ryan's defense to shut'm down.

In a blog by Randy Lange on the Jets home page, he wrote Rex Ryan "put out the call" to the howling masses who could put a chill into the Jaguars' offense on Sunday. "We need the enthusiasm from our crowd," Ryan said at the top of today's news conference. "Obviously our team has got to give you a reason to cheer. But we need to get that going. http://www.newyorkjets.com/blog/posts/1343-call-for-fans-to-jump-on-2nd-half-springboard

I'll be there, Ryan. And I'll be cheering. We all will. Just keep your offense and special teams from handing the game to the opposition, and those ANNOYING penalties from piling up. And the cheering will take care of itself long into December.

4-4 vs 4-4 THIS SUNDAY

How do I feel about the Jets 2009 season at present.

Well. I'm not quite sure. I'm glad they're not 0-8. That's for sure. I'm glad I've seen winning streaks and exiting play. (before other teams put the kibosh on all that and now we can't seem to run a single slant pattern, screen, or down field pass greater than 10 yards, especially when we need 15 for a 1st down).

The fact this team is SO irrational leaves me in a weird place. They should have won games they lost, and won games they should have lost. (on paper anyway, but as we know, games are not played on paper.)

So I feel calm. Cool. Collected. Chill. I'm not waving the pom-poms (I don't own pom-poms) nor am I shouting from the rooftops "SUPERBOWL HERE WE COME". I'm also not saying it's over, we suck, we're doomed. Cause you just never know with this team. You never know.

TURKEY BOWL - JETS/JACKSONVILLE

Excited to hear from my dad that I'll be going with him to the Jacksonville Jaguars/Jets game this Sunday. My brother once again could not make it. (not that I'm excited my brother couldn't go of course, just glad I can share more of the Jets season with them and my dad.)

What could be better for our first game back from the bye week? (bye = off week. each team gets one for the 16 week regular season)

We're 4-4. Jaguars are 4-4. EXCITEMENT. ONE team will fall to the losing side of their record, the other toward victory. Which team will it be? Which wants it more?

Personally I feel the Jets have the upper hand. We should win this game. As a Jet fan I should probably be saying we're GOING to win. But then again, I'm a Jet fan. I say they SHOULD win, and I HOPE they will. They certainly have the talent to. But as we've seen the last 40 years with this team, talent ain't got everything to do with it. If so, we'd have at least 5 Superbowl wins since 69'. No joke.

Looking forward to meeting Peter and his crew at 16G for their Thanksgiving Day set-up, which we're honored to share with them, and we look forward to seeing Liz and the all-women tailgaters as well.

I'm already excited about this Sunday. It'll be a blast. Please let it be sunny and warm, and lets kick some Jaguar butt.

JET FANS NEEDED WEEK OFF!

The Jets not playing this week (bye-week) was not scheduled for them to recoup physically and get X's and O's in line.

It was for the fans.

After this topsy-turvy 1st half of the 2009 season, we needed a breather. Clear our heads, watch other teams know the thrill of victory and agony of defeat, and feel nothing.

DAD'S NAMATH B-DAY JERSEY!

My brothers sister and I chipped in to get my dad a super-cool Namath "throw-back" jersey for his birthday. It's great looking (I think), with sewn-on numbers and letters, like the pro jerseys have.

As Namath was one of the reasons that my dad liked the Jets, and him liking the Jets put my brothers and I on the (bumpy) Jet path our whole lives, what better way to honor the man who began it all for me with the jersey of the man who began it all for him? (though he often mentions Namath's awesome wide receiver Maynard as well).

He waited 10 long years to get Jet season tickets, and now for the rest of this year, and all the Jet years to come, he can display his pride in the green and white.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAD!

MEETING FORMER JET QB GLENN FOLEY!

It was quite an honor to meet former Jets QB Glenn Foley this past Sunday, Nov. 1st, at the Jets/Miami game. He was tailgating with old friends we happened to be interviewing, and he was kind enough to come out and talk to us.

In a lot of ways, Glenn falls under my definition of the Jets Curse. At least, in my mind anyway.

I remember watching him play for Boston College, leading them to a great victory over Notre Dame. Then in 1994 the Jets drafted him and then in 95' he came into a game against the Eagles to replace the languishing starting quarterback, and Foley was amazing. 19 completions on 29 attempts. I thought, "This is it! This guy's the real deal! He can move, he can throw, plays smart! We've got our franchise quarterback!"

And BAM. He gets nailed to the turf and is out for the season. CURSE. But in 1997 he comes back to replace the starting QB mid-game against the Patriots, down 12-3, and he led a comeback to beat the Patriots 24-19. "Foley completed 17 of 23 passes (including 14 in a row) for 200 yards in driving the Jets to three touchdowns."

Then coach Bill Parcells decides to make Foley the starter. I think, "Whoo-hoo! This guy's back! He's healthy and ready to lead us to the promised land!"

Then BAM. Two games into the season the O-line lets him get FLATTENED and he's out again. I mean, COME ON what are the odds? What rotten luck?? For Foley AND for Jet Nation.

So Foley, I remember you fondly and as I said in our interview, the pain you felt leaving the field those days was felt far and wide. I thank you for giving us good memories and great Jet moments we'll not forget. And if there's any story that proves this team, organization, and fans are cursed, this is it.

But a pleasure meeting you and I wish you all the best. We'll be back this season, and maybe we can get a follow-up interview with commentary on how the J-E-T-S Jets Jets Jets are doing.

Until next time.

DEFENDING DUMB JET DEFEATS WITH STATS

My good friend Paul wrote me the following, regarding the Jets 30-25 loss to Miami this past Sunday, Nov. 1st:

"I did not like what Ryan said after the game. He was talking about how great his team is and how good they are stat wise. YOU LOST THE FREAKING GAME! Where do the Jets find these coaches?"

It does get frustrating. Even for Paul, who's a Packers fan. All season we've been defending the Jets with their stats. "Well, the Saints beat us 24-10, but our offense spotted them 14 points off turnovers, so the defense really held the Saints offense to 10 points - it was a tie game..."

Or, "Miami scored 21 of 30 points on special teams, only 9 on offense, while our offense put up 25 offensive points, so really we beat them..."

Or, "Our offensive line and running backs put up over 318 yards rushing against the Bills, with Jones running for over 200 yards, Washington for 99..." BUT WE LOST 16-13.

It's like how some teams lose a lot of games during a season by a field goal in the last second, and fans defend the team by imagining how all those games could have easily been victories and they're a better overall team than their record shows.

These things we tell ourselves to stave off insanity wear thin after a couple decades. It's getting harder and harder to find the silver lining in defeat after defeat.

Because I'm a DOPE and remain a fan of this team (I can't quit them now - I'm cursed forever) I am forced to believe their defense will continue to improve and keep them close, while the offense and special teams work out their kinks over the rest of the year and next. (and next and next and next)

I must remember they're still figuring out year one of a new coaching system and quarterback and new star wide receiver to boot. BUT IT STILL SUCKS cause I KNOW they're better than how they're playing. ALWAYS the way with this team. Always.

And I know despite my current frustration with the very EXPERIENCE of being a Jet fan, like a pregnant woman has some chemical released that causes amnesia about the pain of child-birth, or after a hard night of boozing with friends you wake the next day saying, "I'm NEVER drinking again" - and eventually you're tanked, I'll come around like I always do, and get back to Jet hoping and dreaming like the optimist I am.

And the Jets will play their part in my return. They'll play like gods their next game, and like Pacino in The Godfather Part III, I'll get SUCKED BACK IN.

But that is an imagined future. As for the reality of defending frustrating losses with STATS, it's the equivalent of looking at the menu in a restaurant window. Sure everything looks great, but it ain't gonna fill your belly.

GO JETS. BEAT MEDIOCRITY. (they have the week off. may they use it to get their heads screwed on a bit tighter)

2nd LOSS TO DOLPHINS SUMS UP ENTIRE LIFE OF JET-FAN

Sadly, today's 30-25 Jet loss to the Miami Dolphins (2nd this year) is EXACTLY what it means to be a Jet fan. EXACTLY what it's felt like my whole life.

Promise becomes destruction becomes last second hope becomes destruction in the burning flames they themselves have lit.

Flashes of brilliance clouded by mindless mediocrity.

I'm so beyond frustrated that I have no frustration left for this team. I really don't. I just can't take it anymore. My soul has melted. No amount of hope can change the reality - not coach, quarterback, owner - that this team tortures you for no known reason.

You Jet fans already know this feeling. For those checking out this project to experience a Jet Life, know that having experienced this game was to experience every up and down of the Jet fan for years. Decades.

Let me break down details that should have equaled a Jet victory, but didn't:

The stalwart Jet defense held the Miami Dolphins to only 52 passing yards and 52 running yards over four quarters (compared to 251 passing, 127 rushing by the Jets). That's AMAZINGLY GOOD.

Held the Dolphins to ONE touchdown and ONE field goal, a total of TEN of the Dolphin's final thirty points. Equally astounding.

And DESPITE the three touchdowns scored by Miami on both kick returns, and their defense causing our offense to fumble, Miami running it back for a touchdown, the Jets STILL came back in the fourth quarter to drive the ball to the Dolphin 8 yard-line or so and battle to score the final touchdown needed to win the game.

Despite ALL the anguish, ALL the penalties at the WORST possible time, ALL the missed catches, throws, runs, punts, kick offs right to the guy who ran the ball back for touchdowns (WHICH WERE EACH DEVASTATING IN THEIR OWN SICKENING WAYS), they STILL were only five points down and driving to score with 2 minutes on the clock. STILL they gave us hope. They STILL seemed able to win in the closing seconds...

And THEN they failed.

They CONSTANTLY, no MATTER the era, do this to their fans. CONSTANTLY. And I can take no more.

I HATE the fact they went 3-0 to start the season. HATE IT.

At season's start we ALL knew they had a first time head coach and quarterback, and though excited, KNEW there'd be growing pains. But to then STOMP on talented opponents the first three games?

Expectation sprouted. Foolishly, but we're Jet fans and have nothing but hope to hold on to.

If they went 1-2 the first three games, this would ALL be par for the course. All of it. We wouldn't be SCREAMING at the field or the TV "Nooooo!!!! What are you DOING ????" But that's the madness of this organization, and myself, for continuing to soul-bleed over this team.

The ONLY hope for sanity and salvation is FORGET THE FIRST THREE GAMES EVER HAPPENED.

ACCEPT that we'll be seeing games like this for the next three or four years FOR SURE. But more importantly, this same madness plagued the greatest Jet teams from the 80's and 90's, two of them one step from the Superbowl, before SHOOTING THEMSELVES IN THE FOOT.

Accept THIS WILL ALWAYS BE YOUR FATE. Our fate. EXPECT NOTHING. EVER. CAUSE IT AIN'T GONNA HAPPEN.

It'll SEEM like it's gonna happen. But it won't. It just won't. DESPITE their mistakes, screw-ups, shenanigans, RIDICULOUS "illegal shift" penalties on two point conversions, they WILL make you think they're going to win...but WON'T.

They just WON'T. Key words here are "won't" and "ever" if you haven't picked up on this by now.

I admire our camera man/editor Ben's words today in an email after the game today and the GREAT footage we got from the AMAZING Jet fans we met and met again during tailgating today, because they come home to me like truth...

"Jet fans deserve a better team."

Thank you, Ben. A better compliment to Jet Nation I've never heard.

TRICK OR TREAT????

HAPPY HALLOWEEN.

What a weird holiday. People dressed like clowns, cartoons, devils, demons, with severed heads, rotting flesh and murder weapons, or as the victims of murder. And of course, the scantly-clad ladies letting it all hang out in public, which any other day would get them arrested for indecent exposure. (God bless'm...)

But fun fun fun to be someone else for a day.

Who will the New York Football Jets be the day after Halloween when they play the Miami Football Dolphins? The team who earned four sweet victories this season or the one who earned, and I mean earned, three straight losses?

We'll know game-day when the sun has chased away the ghosts and goblins to reveal just what we've got...

A trick... Or a treat...

GO JETS. HAUNT MIAMI.
